Privacy Policy

We built HeroHighlightsBoard to sit on your wall, not to watch you. This policy explains the little we collect and why.

What We Collect

Account: your email and name via our sign-in provider (Clerk) when you create an account. Preferences: the leagues, teams, and players you follow, so your board syncs across screens. Payments: handled entirely by Stripe — we receive subscription status, never card numbers. Emails: if you join our list, your email and an opt-in flag. Technical: ordinary server logs (IP, request path) kept briefly for security and debugging. No ad trackers, no selling data, no third-party advertising cookies — the only cookies are the ones that keep you signed in.

Who Processes It

We use a small set of processors to run the Service: Vercel (hosting), Clerk (sign-in), Stripe (payments), Neon (database), Upstash (caching), and Resend (email delivery). Each receives only what it needs to do its job. Sports data flows FROM our providers TO you — your personal data is never shared with them.

Billing Data

Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store full payment card details. For billing we keep only your subscription's status, plan, and renewal date (mirrored from Stripe to decide what your board unlocks), and this is shared with Stripe only — no other party. Stripe retains payment records per its own policy and legal obligations; our mirror is deleted with your account.

How Long We Keep Things

Account, preferences, and subscription records: for as long as your account exists, deleted within 30 days of a deletion request. Server logs: about 30 days, then gone. Email-list entries: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Records we're legally required to keep (tax and payment history at Stripe) live for the legally required period.

Emails: Transactional vs Marketing

Transactional emails— receipts, subscription acknowledgments, renewal and trial-ending notices, billing alerts — go to account holders because the law and basic decency require them; they can't be opted out of while you hold a subscription. Marketing emailsare opt-in only, and every one includes a way out — reply "unsubscribe" or use the link provided. Unsubscribing from marketing never stops your receipts.

Your Rights & Deleting Your Data

Want your data, or want it gone? Two ways: (1) email support@herohighlightsboard.comfrom your account address and we'll export or delete your account and associated data within 30 days; (2) delete your account via sign-in settings, which removes sign-in data at Clerk — we remove preferences, subscription mirror rows, and list entries on request. Canceling a subscription doesn't delete your account; deleting your account also ends any subscription.

Children

The Service isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
